Anucode

Anucode is one of the very natural, greeny and classy districts of Kollemcode and stand as a central icon among Urambu, Pingulam and Kacherinada. And another peculiarity of this beautiful place is its own capability to sustain its inherited picturesque scenery and natural beauty. Majority of the people who reside at this charismatic place are believers of chrisitian and hindu religion, and most of them are from Nadar, Nayar and Viswakarma caste.

Churches of different Chrisitian Councils are located here out of which, Pingulam Church, Punnamood Church and Eenthakadu Pentecost Church are the most important churches situated at this place. Kacherinada Ayya temple is one of the most important temples in this region where hindu-nadar people got prominence in hindu rites. Apart from this temple, Parayil Sree Dharma Sasta Temple and Ayithikavu Nagaraja temple are the other important hindu temples located at this place.

Punnamoodu Higher Secondary School(Ringle Taube LMS HSS ,Venkanji), Siluvapuram High School (St.Joseph HS) and Kalparapotta High School(Lutheran HS) are the important nearby schools to this place. However, people depends other important schools like Govt. Higher Secondary School and Sree Devi Girl’s Higher Secondary School for their children’s better education.

Two charming lakes, Perumkulam and Marar kulam are two mesmerizing and stupendous gifts from supernatural power to this naturally blessed and pleasing place. A very vast paddy field is also present very next to these lakes. A canal is also passing very next to these lakes for supplying water required for agricultural needs as well as for farming purposes from Neyyar Dam. Since this district is nourished with water, agriculture is adapted to be the main occupation of most of the people; apart from that Carpentry, Building constructions, Pottery makings and Businesses are also being done by the people from here. And people depend on cities like Trivandrum and Nagercoil for their work.

Politically, both communist and congress parties are equally strong here and Punnamood Higher Secondary School is being assigned as one of the main voting centres for Anucode residents.
