This King Cobra got peculiar eyes and only because of that, the King Cobra was said to be called as “Kanna Nagam” and, year after year, since the King Cobra was being lived in this place, it was started being called as Kannanagm and named as Kannanagm junction, thereafter. On the way from Kannanagam to Venkanji Temple and nearby road side, the Kavu is still seen there.
It is to be said that Kannanagam is a place which is getting developed and become a famous place in Kollemcode day by day. Regarding the constituency of Kollemcode Village, ward number 4, 8 and 9 are deemed as part of Kannanagm and 4th & 9th wards are now under the jurisdiction of BJP and 8th ward is under the jurisdiction of CPM.
